Pregnant? Schedule an ultrasound for your pregnancy options

Schedule an ultrasound appointment to determine your next steps.

If you have taken a positive pregnancy test, the next step is to schedule an ultrasound.

What to Expect at an Ultrasound Appointment

  • Ultrasounds are administered by certified medical staff trained in ultrasound. All scans are reviewed by a licensed obstetrician.

  • This can mean pregnancy is very early or the pregnancy is outside the uterus (ectopic pregnancy). Ectopic pregnancy is a serious life threatening condition and medical referral would be given to see a doctor immediately.

  • All of our services, including ultrasound, are free and confidential.

  • Ultrasounds can provide information essential to the health and wellbeing of a woman considering abortion. The screening can medically confirm a viable pregnancy and therefore if an abortion procedure would be applicable.

Ultrasounds help to identify an ectopic pregnancy (outside of the uterus), which is a medical emergency requiring immediate attention. They are also important in identifying how far along a woman is in her pregnancy and confirming which abortion methods she would be considering, which include different levels of risk and funds.

  • Ultrasounds at AWPC are completely free and confidential, regardless of the decision you are considering for your pregnancy journey. You will not be judged or pressured in your decision, but will be given information and tools to help you make an informed and empowered choice. An appointment can be made quickly with an ultrasound able to be done as soon as 6 weeks since the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP).

  • You can get an ultrasound as early as six weeks from the first day of your last menstrual cycle (LMP).

  • The nurses were so kind. When I told them I had a miscarriage a few months ago they genuinely seemed to care, it really made me feel seen and cared for. My OB just wrote it down in her notes and skipped over it like it was nothing. I felt like a person there and not just another patient.
